Measurement Capabilities

Seltech owns two state-of-the-art electroacoustic laboratories, strategically located in Paris (FR) and Nanjing (CN). These facilities are fully equipped to assess the electroacoustic performance of your products at both the full device level and the transducer level. Whether you need to fine-tune the acoustics of a new speaker system, validate the performance of a microphone, or create a bill of specifications from scratch, Seltech has the resources and knowledge to support your evaluation needs.

When more extensive testing is required, we have the capability to utilize the large LNE Anechoic Rooms. These rooms provide a highly controlled environment that is essential for conducting precise acoustic measurements, ensuring the utmost accuracy and reliability in our results.

Our capabilities in
Microphone Testing

Based on popular techniques involving a reference microphone next to the module under test, Seltech can evaluate the behavior of a bare microphone module, the spatial directivity of a beamformer, and the overall recording function of a complete device. Dedicated ultrasonic sources allow to quantify your system out of the audible bandwidth, when the application requires it.

In-ear
evaluation

Unlike speaker systems, in-ear and over-the-ear designs are measured in a pressure field that intends to recreate our ears canal condition. To do so, the consuming market commonly uses the so-called 711 coupler, having taken its name from the historical IEC 711 standard, which later became IEC 60318. When associated to an anthropomorphic artificial ear (as well as an artificial head if needed) the whole setup allows to quantify acoustic properties representative of the use case.

Loudspeaker testing

Correctly evaluating the acoustical behavior of a speaker system is always a challenge, especially in low frequencies. Thanks to environments like anechoic chambers, Seltech is able to fully qualify a system, from the axis response to the spatial directivity, including harmonic and non-harmonic distortion.
